The Sofigreen Project

11 March 2024

The European project SOFIGREEN  – Social Finance for Social Greening, co-funded by the EU Commission under the SMP-COSME-2022-SEE Call (G.A. 101127346), intends to contribute to the green transition of the Social and Solidarity Economy Enterprises (SSEEs) by facilitating access to dedicated financing and by strengthening multi-stakeholder and multi-level cooperation networks.

The initiative aims to support social enterprises in attaining the objectives outlined in the European Union’s Green Deal by fostering their capacities, improving their sustainable management, and greening their operations.

Thus, the objective is to enable the entities to leverage on the opportunities presented in the energy transition by adopting a model of social, environmental, and economic sustainability through reevaluating their business model.

To this end, an international partnership has been established, led by the MeSSina Foundation and comprised of nine organizations dedicated to social and ecological innovation, Social Finance intermediaries, and philanthropic entities engaged across three advanced areas in the development of Social Economy (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes in France, Southern Italy, and Andalusia in Spain). Among the organizations in the partnership is also the CON IL SUD Foundation.

The project’s action plan includes co-designing a package of capacity-building initiatives for social enterprises, as well as training courses aimed at defining paths towards ecological transition and identifying possible funding channels.
